That’s me!
Outwit Adventures Inc.
Over the course of 2 years, I helped release over 10 mobile AR games at Outwit Adventures. Our team, at its smallest, was three developers including myself. We had two Unity developers, and one backend engineer.
As the team was quite small, we all had to wear multiple hats during development of our games. I was responsible for developing and implementing puzzles, designing UI elements, and even some design work as well.
Our Games
Location-based AR games
Many of the games we made were built upon the base of location-based AR puzzles. These games were commissioned by the province of New Brunswick and were aimed at families, as a means of getting people out into parks in their communities after the pandemic.
Team Building Games
We also created WebGL games for companies to participate in for team building exercises. These were cooperative experiences where players would either have to solve puzzles with their team by traversing their offices virtually, or by having teams that have hidden information and leading their partners to the solution.
What I learned at Outwit Adventures
While working at Outwit Adventures, I got to experience working on a worldwide team, working within constraints, and important lessons in production planning.
Being able to collaborate with colleagues and work through issues creatively helped me grow as a developer and as a designer.
It also reinforced my passion for making games. This art form is truly special to me, and I am forever thankful that I found game design and development.
